Bodies & Machines, is a time-based media collage that warns about the effects today's technology has on our bodies; worsening our hearing, posture, eyesight, and causing our fingers to deform.

Projection in the piece takes the form of slowly turning cogs and monitoring displays while the acetate layers mimic the color and texture of MRI scans and X-rays. Audio of doctor warnings and machinery humming and beeps add a layer of sound to the piece.

The piece is inspired by Rebecca Harding Davis's short story, Life in the Iron Mills. Davis depicts the physical effect the cotton mills' machines had on her main character's body. Deborah, the protagonist, is hunchbacked as a result of working on machinery.
