In response to the pervasive issue of transphobia and the harassment faced by transgender individuals in public toilets, "Flush Transphobia" challenges societal norms and demands justice through unconventional means.

By utilizing liquid blue Drano toilet bowl cleaner to spell out the defiant message, I reclaim the very space where transgender individuals are often subjected to discrimination and violence.

This artwork serves as both a didactic and poetic statement, confronting viewers with the stark reality of transphobia while inviting contemplation and reflection. The choice of material not only subverts its intended purpose but also symbolizes the toxic nature of bigotry and prejudice.

Installed in a public restroom, the juxtaposition between the hostile environment and the bold assertion against transphobia creates a powerful and evocative dialogue. Through this intervention, I aim to disrupt complacency, ignite conversations, and foster empathy and understanding for transgender individuals who navigate these hostile spaces daily.

As an artist and activist, my intention is to provoke thought, incite action, and ultimately contribute to the dismantling of oppressive systems that marginalize and endanger transgender communities. "Flush Transphobia" is not just an artwork; it is a call to arms for justice and equality.
