Inspired by Marina Abramovic, this performance piece mocks teens everywhere (including myself) who spend endless hours glued to their phones, wasting away their one precious life. Through stop animation, the viewer accompanies the teenage girl on her journey outside, without her phone, where she is forced to experience the world around her.

She leaves the darkness of her room, venturing into the brightness of the sun. The teen is shown outside in fun places, but her body language and facial expression are dead, void of any feeling that could give the viewer the sense that she is enjoying her time. This piece brings a sad reminder that taking time off the screens doesn't necessarily translate to teens appreciating the outdoors and the beauty of nature.
